Utrip Buenos Airesa performed by Ansambel Odeon

Utrip Buenos Airesa is an album by Ansambel Odeon, an ensemble of young musicians, primarily students and young professionals, under the artistic direction of violinist Timotej Willewaldt. The album presents three personal and stylistically diverse perspectives on tango. Bregović’s Underground Tango, with its restrained, subtle and quietly radiant musical language, opens the door to the intimate world of tango and leads into Roberto di Marino’s melancholic Double Concerto. From its tranquil opening, the piece develops into a lively dance filled with rhythmic energy and the virtuosity of the accordion and guitar. The highlight of the album is Astor Piazzolla’s cycle The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, arranged by Leonid Desyatnikov for solo violin and string orchestra. Here, Argentine tango intertwines with echoes of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, vividly capturing the pulse of Buenos Aires and the diversity of human emotions and personalities. The featured soloists are Teja Udovič Kovačič (accordion), Jaka Klun (guitar) and Maša Stopar (violin). Ansambel Odeon is conducted by Samo Vidic. The album is released by ZKP RTV Slovenija in collaboration with Radio Slovenia – Programme Ars.
