Amelia Bailey aka Izzy is a rapper singer from Manchester, UK
Her latest release Knife Crime channels Baileys frustration with the high levels of knife crime in her local area, and the ramifications suffered from it.
Bailey comments that these issues have "either taken victims lives away or have left them in the hospital critically ill”.
The big message serves as an influence for her to make music, as well as her background singing in the church choir from a young age, before building her repertoire over the years.
Amelia Bailey has the following to say about the singles theme.
I think that a lot of young people struggle with peer pressure, making the right decisions for themselves and doing the right thing.
I think enabling young people with the tools to be free thinkers is the way to go. They need positive role models and often a non-judgemental ear to listen to how they feel and guide them through the process. Love and unity is the message. I hope that when the song is heard it makes people stop and think before they pick up a knife in anger and do something that cannot undo.
