Troll

So here's what happened: a version Troll was originally signed to a Greek label and released as part of the Retox EP back in 2019. However, they made a huge mistake and released the same song under different names twice. Upon trying to intervene to get this fixed, the label disbanded and erased all of it's internet presence. Nothing could be done anymore.

Then the song Troll was pirated and released as part of a compilation clled Wall of SOund: Visionary Beats from the Underground. That was a bit flattering ngl so we left it out there. It was still a bit strange.

So in order to regain artistic control of the song, we updated the mix to modern standards, did a remaster and subsequently rerelease it under the aegis of Alternate Audio.

The tune is a bit of a troll move, as it's melody meanders throughout the whole song. The mid part aims to be an even bigger troll move with it's weird unsettling synths going all over the place, bound only by the unceasing flow of aforementioned melody. But it wouldn't be an Alec Decay tune if there wasn't a particular thiccness to it and a somewhat grand compositional scheme governing behind the apparent everpresent boom boom boom boom.
