Mizizi Dodo

Abakisimba (Let the lion remain a lion) are an ensemble of percussionists, poets, musicians and dancers from diffrent ethnic backrounds in Kenya. Around the rhythms of traditional drums they compose modern tunes full of soul, drive and wisdom, blending homegrown styles like Benga with Rap or Reggae, to create their unique sound. More then just grooves, their songs dive deep to lyrically explore topics like consciousness, enviromental responsibility and personal liberty. "Mizizi Dodo" is the single to the forthcoming album "Abakisimba", an upbeat and energetic belter that recalls its roots in heritage as it calls us to come together and dance. Raw lion power!
