A flute quartet

This song is a journey about searching for happiness during the pandemic. Chaturasra is a project which has spread a lot of happiness among. When I requested my musician friends and legends, they were immensely supportive and joined me on this venture. Their agreement
makes me happy.

It’s a concept of World Wind Festival 2016 where four flutists were playing and gaming what they want and to express on the basis of Rag Revati. It is used very rarely as a performing rag but it's one of the pentatonic scales and beautiful rags. It has its own identity.

When we were performing, even though it is a Carnatic range we felt like playing blues onIndian soul. That’s how the name came to be, Indian blues Chaturasra and Chaturasra means quartet. This can be performed in all jazz festivals as Iblues.

I want to thank each one who is involved in this project. Special thanks to Padma Shri A.R.Rahman for his encouragement and ideas. The four flautist involved are:

Maestro Pedro Eustache: is a multidirectional award winning world-class flute/winds/wind synthesist/electronics soloist; composer, lecturer, educator, researcher, with extensive academic studies and over 40 years of professional experience.

Shri Rakesh Chaurasia: has carved a niche for himself, as an accomplished flautist.
Incorporating the tradition of his renowned uncle and infusing his personal style.

Shri Shashank Subramanyam: a Grammy nominated exponent of the Bamboo Flute has regaled audiences around the globe since 1984. A senior performer, has collaborated with renowned musicians from the East to the West
And yours truly.

To add to the beauty of the project we have Padma Shri. Shivamani: music is a passion and self-learnt. It runs in his blood. India’s best
percussionist.
Shri Patri Satish Kumar: A fine performer, composer and with a deep interest to innovate and explore the art form, his specialization is his precise fingering technique and the fine balance of sounds between the treble and bass heads of the Mridangam.
Shri Giridhar Udupa: Synonymous with the ghatam, world-renowned percussionist Ghatam Giridhar Udupa is one of the most loved names in the field of music.
Shri Ojas Adhiya: child prodigy in Music, is a Limca book of records holder as the youngest tabla player of India. He has performed with almost all the legendary maestros from India.
