The Big Butter, Part 2

Hailing from Austria but with their influence reaching far further, the Waxolutionists have been spreading their unique blend of classic sampling, turntablism and electron ics - loaded with skills and an abundant love for hiphop – for almost 20 years.

A few highlights from the Waxos-biography: founded in 1997 by The Bionic Kid, DJ Zuzee & Dj Buzz.
Their legendary debut-12'' „Nachtschattengewächs“ (feat. Manuva, released in 1999) was followed by four regular longplayers („The Smart Blip Experience“, 2000; „Plastic People“, 2002; „Counterfight“, 2004; „We Paint Colors“, 2009) and a remix-album („RE:WAX“, 2003). The trio worked with and for artists like DJ Vadim, Ty, UK-rap-legend Blade or broken beat vocalist Lyric L and remixed luminaries like André Heller and Ray Cokes.

After a 6 year break, they started working on "The Big Butter“ in 2014. The result was a journey through two decades of bandhistory and yet forsight. Scratches, wordcuts, instrumental-bangers, rare-groove-joints, carefully handcrafted, selected, manipulated and mixed. With over 100 minutes of material it quickly became clear that this is obviously two longplayers laying on the table.

Which is exactly what happened. Part 2 and its 24 Tracks of the "Big Butter" Collosus are about to drop. "It's automatic, rhythmic revolution. The Waxolutionists: The answer, the solution. Multiply that shit by the power of 3. Let's make it crystal clear: listen here." is one of the first wordcuts of the opening title - nothing more needs to be said. Simply put, it's exactly what they love to do and do best.
