Vintage Krautrock meets Classical Instruments

The music: Krautrock, the experimental electronic music that appeared in Germany during the late 1960s, and gained popularity throughout the 1970s. Combine it with classical instruments and you will have the music featured on ”Sirius Singularity” We have preserved the originality of vintage Krautrock, and at the same time added something new to it. We hope you will enjoy listening to our CD. The material of this CD was composed and recorded during 2010 and 2011 in Eskilstuna, Sweden, and Cologne, Germany. The musicians: Uwe Cremer was born in 1965 in Germany, the land of Krautrock. After listening to Kraftwerk on the radio some day in 1974 Uwe fell in love with this brand of music immediatly. Further influences are prog rock, gothic rock and heavy metal. He learned to play the guitar at the age of 13. Twenty years later he taught himself to play keyboard and started using the computer as a virtual studio. After some time of exploring the possibilities of modern technology Uwe started recording his own music. His official debut ›Entrance‹ was released on the famous German label ›Garden of Delights‹ in 2006. Until today Uwe has released three albums under the name Level π and appears on a couple of compilations. Sweden is well known for main stream pop groups like ABBA and Roxette, but Swedish composer and musician Thomas Rydell (b 1969) choose an alternative music career. With influences from progressive rock bands and German krautrock, as well as folk- and classical music, his own compositions have been released by a major Swedish label during the 1990s. After getting his degree in musical composition and arranging, Thomas started a music production company in 2001. Since then he has scored several feature length films, as well as TV shows. He never left his early influences though, and the new album Sirius Singularity is a tribute to groups like Tangerine Dream and Pink Floyd. Uwe Cremer and Thomas Rydell first met thanks to their mutual friend Chris Newman in 2008. At the time Chris was running a podcast radioshow (TDFZ Radio Show) featuring fans of the legendary German krautrock band Tangerine Dream. The podcast featured music by fans that themselves were influenced by Tangerine Dream. The music of both Uwe and Thomas were aired on a regular basis on TDFZ Radio Show, and attracted the attention of the listeners. With Krautrock as their mutual common ground, Uwe and Thomas decided to get together and discuss a collaboration. The result can now be heard on their new CD Sirius Singularity. While Uwe also added his influences from psychedelic bands like Pink Floyd, Thomas contribution was mainly orchestral arrangement, something which he has worked with while scoring films. Althought they have met and worked together in real life, the work process has mainly taken place over the internet as Uwe lives in Cologne, Germany, and Thomas lives in Eskilstuna Sweden.
