Breathtaking Ten Years After set co-headlining the major Anti WAA Festival.
In 1988, the TEN YEARS AFTER members reunited for a few concerts and recorded the album "About Time" (1989) with producer Terry Manning in Memphis. They stayed together for their longest continuous period, until 2003, however without releasing new studio effort. In 1989 the newly reformed Ten Years After were invited to co-headline the huge Anti WAA Festival against a nuclear power plant in Germany in 1989, being last but one on the bill, only followed by metal legends BLUE CHEER who closed the festival. They laid down a breathtaking set, maybe one of the best of their long career. The audience went completely out of their minds.PersonnelAlvin Lee – guitar, vocalsLeo Lyons – bassRic Lee – drumsChick Churchill – organBLUE CHEER had major problems to follow this phenomenal TEN YEARS AFTER set ... but succeeded. After them closing the festival a very nice party followed with TEN YEARS AFTER's, BLUE CHEER's and both bands' friends THE GROUNDHOGS' band and crew members.Unfortunately there is no film footage of TEN YEARS AFTER's set, as it is from BLUE CHEER's and THE GROUNDHOGS' sets. This is one more release from a series of live recordings to be released from this great festival: all entitled "Live at Anti WAA Festival 1989" ... more to follow, e.g. from THE BLUESBAND, HERMAN BROOD, ROBERT CRAY a.o.
