Eidetic Memory

"Eidetic Memory" will be available as a digital album and on audio CD on January 26th, 2018.

Following “Akbé/Animé”, which collected material from the band’s early rehearsals, O'R.P's second album “Eidetic Memory” shows them in full (and still relaxed) flight. It’s all there - the fragile melodies, the dreamlike improvisations and the line-up of cello & piano that make O’R.P’s blend of ambient chamber jazz so unique - only this time, the band have stepped up their game and included new layers of sound (plus a touch of sitar!) that introduce an all new and compelling complexity to the music. The song titles have grown to long, evocative sentences that mingle with the music to create short movies which play before your mind’s eye as you listen to it. This album has a unique intensity, whether you happen to have an eidetic memory or not.

O'R.P is an ambient chamber jazz ensemble featuring Mig O'Rourke (electric cello) and Horst Prillinger (electric piano, electric sitar). The band plays in a distinct style located between minimal music, drone, and ambient music, making extensive use of improvisation.
