About Stories ft. Randy Brecker and Bob Mintzer rereleased on Prova Records
About Stories is the debut album of Michel Bisceglia first time released in 1997. on the legen-dary jazz label BMG / RCA Victor in Belgium. 10 years later this album finally has been re-released on Prova Records.
The album still sounds as up to date as in 1997. Special guests on this album are Randy Brecker (trumpet) and Bob Mintzer (tenorsax and bass clarinet).
The first track is called “Presence of Mammals” and draws himself on pace with Michel on the piano in its own well known style: influences of several jazz genres shine through in this quiet composition of Michel.
“Song for Ervin” is lyrically and controlled, with Randy Brecker on sensitive trumpet.
There is one live recording on the album: “The Epic”, played on 16 June 1996 with an audience of thirty invited.
The rolling bass plays a harmonious dance with the relaxing and controlled sound. “No turn back “ reminding sometimes to Monk.
The title “All About Stories” is a very well arranged composition with space and developed themes of the soloists. “Red Eye” is one of the pearls on the CD, great interplay of the trio.
