The best Chicago blues band on the planet!
Magic Slim born as Morris Holt in Grenada, Mississippi in 1937 started his musical activities with playing the piano. But after an accident where he lost the little finger of his right hand his piano playing days were over. Sam Maghett aka Magic Sam was a childhood friend of Morris and taught him to play guitar.
Soon Slim began playing in local clubs and fish fries. When he went to Chicago he got together with the Teardrops. In the 70's and 80's Magic Slim created a special blues sound with his band, which got the new Chicago blues style.
Especially the band members John Primer (ex Muddy Waters) and Nick Holt are responsible for the Teardrops sound. The magic man himself plays guitar in his unique style and sings full of power.
“Rough Dried Woman” is the best CD of the WC Handy Blues Award Winners Magic Slim & The Teardrops. This CD includes three never recorded songs.
