A glorious ode to Goddess Lakshmi

Written by Saint Bhargava, in Ancient times, the 'Great' or 'Maha' Mantra 'Shree Lakshmi Hridaya Lakshmi' in the meter of 'Anushtup' (From Indian Classical Music) in order to please the Goddess Shree Maha Lakshmi.

Shree Maha Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of wealth, prosperity (both material and spiritual), fortune, and the embodiment of beauty. She is the consort of the Lord Vishnu and is said to bring good luck and is believed to protect her devotees from all kinds of misery and money-related sorrows. Representations of Shree Maha Lakshmi are also found in Jain monuments.

Lakshmi is worshipped daily in Hindu homes and commercial establishments as the goddess of wealth. She also enjoys worship as the consort of Lord Vishnu in many temples. The festivals of Diwali and Kojagiri Poornima are celebrated in her honour.

This rendering of Shree Lakshmi Hridaya Stotram was done by Smt. K. M. Kusuma, a well renowned Carnatic Classical singer with over 25 years of experience.
