Renowned Finnish accordionist Janne Rättyä presents confluents, an intimate collection of contemporary works that trace the expressive and textural possibilities of the solo accordion.

At the heart of the album are two deeply personal pieces by Austrian composer Klaus Lang, including Kolminaisuus (2024)—titled in Finnish as a nod to the long-standing collaboration between Lang and Rättyä—and cantica christinae II – confluents (2021), which gives the album its name.

Works by Bent Sørensen, Sigrid’s Lullaby and Sigrid’s Cantata, offer fragile lyricism, while Luciano Berio’s Sequenza XIII “Chanson” stands as a modern classic.

The album artwork is by Viennese artist Melanie Ender, complementing the intimate atmosphere of the music.
