Hannes Otahal started performing on national and international stages at a very young age. Even before he began to study classical piano, he was dedicated to authentic interpretations of great Boogie classics.
In addition to his solo concerts, he performed with the “Mojo Blues Band” at the Stars of Boogie-Woogie Gala in the Grand Concert Hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus. Numerous tours followed with international stars such as Axel Zwingenberger and the American jazz pianist Ray Bryant. He has appeared with a number of legendary American recording artists like Wanda Jackson, Linda Gail Lewis, Tommy Cash, Bill Haley's Comets, Narvel Felts, Charlie McCoy, Norma Jean, Stonewall Jackson and Billy Jo Spears. He was also a member of the internationally known groups: “5 in love”, “Girly & The Blue Caps“, „New West“, “Route 66” and the “Legendary Daltons“.
At the beginning of the new millennium, he began transcribing classic Boogie compositions to facilitate his increasing role as teacher and mentor to young musicians in the boogie-woogie scene.
Together with his new management (Gustfuss Records) he is working on the new edition of his successful album “Boogie-Woogie Reminiscences“, as well as innovative compositions for a brand new album. Some of his works, including his version of “Bumble Boogie“ are now available in sheet music form at Gustfuss Records.
