Only ever US tour of British Bluesrock legend The Groundhogs

In 1972 The Groundhogs embarked on their only ever tour in their Promised Land, the homeland of the Blues, the USA. The Groundhogs' mastermind and boss, Tony McPhee remembers these recordings made at a US radio session. There are voices disputing the origin USA; but Tony remembers it that way. At any rate, here are great live documents of the iconic mark 1 line-up.
For a little while the Groundhogs lived their American dream, travelling to the places of the origin of the Blues; but also cowboys populated their dreams: Tony McPhee, as he tells the story, fell off a horse trying to ride it. He was lucky not to have bruised or fractures his arms or hands; the tour would have to be called off.
Most of the time the Groundhogs did not headline, but openned and shared the stage with luminaries such as Three Dog Night, the Faces, Humble Pie, Black Sabbath, ELP and so on, e.g. at the legenday "Concert Ten" festival at Pocono International Raceway on July8th.

Line-up: Bass – Peter Cruickshank;Drums – Ken Pustelnik; Lead Guitar, Vocals – Tony T.S. Mc Phee*
