Time-Lapse

Time-Lapse is the new original song by Cherries on a Swing Set, the Italian a-cappella group that wants to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a pop anthem. The song was written during the lockdown, between March and May: Stefano Benini composed the music and the arrangement, while the lyrics are the result of all five members’ work. Time-lapse photography is a technique whereby the frequency at which film frames are captured is much more spread out than the frequency used to view the sequence. When played at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing. In a very similar way the group wanted to tell their personal experiences during the lockdown, a period of time in which each moment seemed to be both eternal and fleeting, characterized by the desire to come back to a normal life.
The song was produced by Andrea Figallo, international singer and musician.
The video was shot in Rome with a heavy “urban” and “industrial archeology” feel to it by the talented Agne Sumonte.
