CHEENOs debut The Next Step Will Be The Hardest is synonymical to its power
Since their foundation, Cheeno were dealt as an insider tip. Now this five-piece is breaking in with a monumental long player with a gigantic playtime of 72 minutes. On their debut album "The Next Step Will Be The Hardest" each song is a potential hit but anyway the band managed to combine them with a musical and lyrical concept to form a whole. The lyrics are dealing with stories which cynically accuse the emotional blunting of humanity with Cheeno as sentimental protagonists at the center stage. Winning the German rock and pop award 2006 in the category Alternative Rock was a proof for the convincing originality and live presence of the band. Good to know - The album concept is based on a story written by guitar player Joey Siedl. The full story will be released as 150-page-softcover book. - Recorded at SU2 Studios (Powerwolf, The Vision Bleak, The Parachutes, Vendetta, Autumnblaze) - Cheeno have won the German rock pop award Short bio: CHEENO was founded by live and studio musicians of "Autumnblaze", a band which released 6 CDs worldwide via Prophecy Productions / Soulfood and played four full tours throughout Europe (among others, with Oceansize, Antimatter, The Vision Bleak). Along with Jennie Kloos, an experienced vocal soloist who previously performed for various big projects (such as the Munich Symphonics – Circus meets Classic) and for different TV- and advertisement productions (including Star Search Germany, TUI and the "Deutsche Kinderkrebsstiftung"), they formed a band together in August 2005. CHEENO was born. One month after the first rehearsal sessions, they joined their former label mates Klimt1918 (IT) on their tour through Germany and The Netherlands. Until the end of 2005, CHEENO had won several newcomer contests and at the beginning of 2006, they published their first EP "try to rescue". In 2006, CHEENO competed with 800 bands to be nominated for the "German Rock and Pop" award. The band got in effortlessly and was finally awarded "Best Alternative Act 2006" with their song "Silizium". In addition to explosive rock shows, CHEENO started holding special unplugged sessions in 2007 that sold out completely. In summer 2008, CHEENO signed a worldwide record deal with Prevision Music, a sub division of Supreme Chaos Records, to release their first full length album "The Next Step Will Be The Hardest" which received overwhelming reviews. All shows that followed the record release circumstantiate the quality of this album. Also, the according book release met the fans approval. In the end of 2009 CHEENO concentrate on writing songs for the successor "2 Face Macy" which will be released in Mai 2010, again illustrated by Julie Keene who also finished the work for a comic book which will be released alongside the album.
