Carl Michaels goes Doo-Wop and some more hip things in Pop-Music
Friends of Art – Young at Heart You name it, it’s all here: Ballads, Blues, Doo-Wop, Flamenco, Jazz-Pop, Musical songs, Latin, R & B, Reggae, Rock, Yiddish folk… Seeking to escape the quicksand grip of old age, I started to make music with lifelong friends again at the age of 68. I found that it made me feel better being still able to move things. These recent works are presented here as tracks 01 - 11. Some of my earlier efforts are included in tracks 12 - 18. This mixture of latest and earlier works offers a sound impression of Carl Michaels. It is released in 2013 as a retrospective album. Enjoy listening. I hope you will agree that song by song there is a unique thread of art through it that resounds as time goes by. Groove by groove you can hear strange, somehow a bit weird and different kind of music - non-commercial tones you most likely have not heard before. For example FANTERGIA a Pop/Jazz song from the theme THE PSYCHERUBIANS Part II, a musical narrative that is an “Utopical” as I call this trilogy of a modern Wagner opera type of thing. Produced about 30 years ago and perhaps still ahead of its time, it still has a fresh pop music sound.
